BREXIT NIGHT - 31 January 2020

On 31 January 2020 Philip Davis M.P. held a thank you party at the Club for party members for their support in respect of his re-election. This event of course coincided with BREXIT night. Below is a photo of Philip Davies (L) with Terry Key, our Secretary (R).

Garden Party 2019

The Club held the annual garden party and free BBQ in support of Manorlands on Sunday 7 July. Thankfully, the weather was fine and the event was well attended by over 220 people. There were various stalls, a live band outside and a disco in the lounge for the children. We managed to get through 500 burgers and sausages. We raised £1,700.00 on the day including a donation from the Club. Our thanks for all the people who supported the event by donating prizes for the tombola, people attending the event, our suppliers and of course our staff and committee. Garden Party & Opening of Patio Extension 2018

The annual garden party and free BBQ in aid of Manorlands was held on Sunday 22 July 2018. This coincided with the opening of our new patio extension by the Lord Mayor of Bradford. A small selection of the photos taken on the day are shown belo w.

Charity Walk - May 2018

On Saturday 5 May 2018, participants in a charity walk in aid of two ill children from Wilsden and Martin House Children’s Hospice stopped at the club for light refreshments. The club donated £100 and the photo shows Terry Key (Club Secretary) handing a cheque, payable to the hospice, to the organiser of the event.

St Patrick's Day

St Patrick’s Day was recently marked at the club. Guinness was reduced to £3 a pint for 3 days and hats, modelled here, were given to members. The photo shows (L to R) Alex (bar staff), Terry (Secretary) and Naomi (Stewardess).

Amber Rudd Visit

On 30 August 2017, the club hosted a complimentary drinks reception with the Secretary of State for the Home Department, the Rt. Hon. Amber Rudd M.P.

GARDEN PARTY AT CULLINGWORTH

The Cullingworth Conservative Club and Political Association held a garden party on Saturday in the grounds at Ellar Carr, by kind permission of Mr and Mrs John Ambler Greenwood.

There was a large attendance, Mr H. Hainsworth presided at the opening proceedings.

In the absence of Mr J. H. Robinson, Mr J. A. Burton (Chairman of the Shipley Division Unionist Association) declared the fete open, and in doing so congratulated the Committee and the ladies on the excellent work they were doing for the Unionist Party in Cullingworth.

What was the political position at the moment? In every direction there was still chaos. Mr Lloyd George still retained the confidence of the majority of the people and judged by its fruits, the Coalition had achieved splendid work on the people’s behalf.

In the midst of a world’s turmoil this country’s position was far superior to any other. When we tried to visualise the terrible conditions in Russia, Austria and Germany (with marks at 5,000 to the £ instead of the normal 20) we realised that instead of criticising the Coalition Government we had every reason to be satisfied with the efforts they had made to restore trade and employment. As to Germany he was satisfied the Coalition Government would get every penny they could.

The Ladies Committee had charge of the refreshment and other stalls. Lola, a lady palmist, and Professor Whitehead, phrenologist, were in constant demand.

The Denholme Brass Band played selections on the lawn. The Royal Arcadians Concert Party, Professor Fox (Punch and Judy), and Mr Stanley, entertainer, submitted a varied programme. Mr and Mrs Ambler Greenwood also entertained 300 children and made excellent arrangements for their enjoyment. Mrs Greenwood presented the prizes to the winner
